First stop, the beach! Everyone knows that soft, sandy shores and crystal clear aqua waters capitulate the Cycladic experience. Mykonos is full of beautiful beaches, but choosing one can be overwhelming. ""Paralia Platis Yialos"", or Platis Yialos Beach features shallow, luminous water and a broad beachfront, making it a crowd-pleaser popular for families and travelers of all types.Whereas you can expect to pay over 100 dollars to secure umbrella and sunbeds elsewhere, at Platis Yialos you can expect to pay around 20-25 dollars a person. Remember that the closer to the waterfront you are, the more expensive the sunbed will be. Travelers on a tighter budget can simply bring their own towel and umbrella to set up camp on the sand in the unmarked areas. However, if you're planning to lounge for several hours, securing a paid spot may be a worthwhile investment- especially as the beach clubs sell refreshments and light bites, served beachfront. For some watersports excitement, check out the waterfront boats and their quiver of inflatable fun for rent. Affordable, accessible, and aesthetically stunning- Platis Yialos is an amazing Greek beach experience.

Walk to a late lunch/early dinner- Yialo Yialo Resturant, right on the beach. Boasting a timeless menu of Mediterranean flavors executed with finesse and elegance, Yialo Yialo is also excellent value for money. The breezy outdoor seating, ambient atmosphere and attentive staff will provide be the perfect wind-down after a day of sunshine and saltwater. Yialo Yialo prioritizes fresh, local ingredients and traditional recipes in the conceptualization of their food. They are also committed to offering a variety of options for all types of diners- delicious vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available too. A particular recommendation is the classic Greek salad - juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumber and a block of feta cheese on top (what could be more refreshing ?). Seafood lovers have a plethora of options, but the grilled squid is outstanding. All the traditional souvlaki choices are offered too. Whatever you order, try to restrain your appetite long enough to snap a picture of your plate. The dishes are just as much a feast for the eyes as they are a feast for the stomach!

You know all those stunning, idyllic photos of Mykonos you've seen on the internet? Well, odds are that most of them are from Little Venice. The seaside neighbourhood is part of Mykonos Town, and gets its name from the city that inspired it. Stunning architecture echos that of Italy's iconic city- but with a Cycliadic flair that the world has come to recognize as distinctly Greek.Only a 10 minute drive or a 20 minute bus ride from our previous stop at Platis Gialos beach, Little Venice is a labyrinth of stone streets lined with charming shopfronts. Abandon yourself to wander aimlessly through the narrow alleys, weaving in and out of any shops that catch your eye. However, make sure you stroll out of the maze onto the waterfront in time for sunset, lest you miss the sun kissing the water on the horizon right in front of you. If you'd rather an elevated view of the scene, walk up to Boni's Windmill. The well-preserved structure makes for a great photo op and will let you see Little Venice from above. If the romance of Little Venice captivates you, stay into the night for a crisp cocktail or at least a cold and satisfying ice cream before calling it a day.
